The Ultimate Summer Reading Program Egg Drop Challenge!
Can your egg survive a plunge from the sky? Put your engineering, problem-solving, and physics skills to the test at the WSMR Post Library’s Egg Drop Challenge! This exciting event is part of the 2026 DOD MWR Libraries Summer Reading Program and is open to kids and creative minds of all ages.
The library will provide a wide variety of mystery building materials. Your mission? Design and build a protective capsule capable of keeping a raw egg completely intact when it is dropped from a significant height. Will your design crack under pressure, or will your egg walk away without a scratch? Come find out!

- Design & Build: Use the provided assortment of everyday items to construct your landing craft.

All materials are supplied by the library on a first-come, first-served basis. No advanced sign-up is required—just show up ready to build!
