27th Annual First Day of School Holiday Celebration

Kick off the 2026/27 school year with a day of family fun, celebration, and community resources!

White Sands Missile Range Family & MWR invites all installation families to join us for the 27th Annual First Day of School Holiday (FDOSH) on Thursday, July 23. This annual tradition is the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming school year with exciting activities, food, and essential back-to-school giveaways.

  • First Stop: Opening Ceremony
    • Time: 10:30 AM
    • Location: White Sands School
  • Main Event: MWR’s FDOSH Celebration
    • Time: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM
    • Location: MST (Bldg 1318)

🎉 Activities & Highlights

Come out and enjoy a high-energy afternoon packed with activities for the whole family:

  • 🌊 Water Slide Fun: Cool off and make a splash on our outdoor water slides.
  • 🍔 Food & Giveaways: Enjoy great food and grab exciting giveaways throughout the event.
  • ✏️ Free School Supplies: Pick up essential back-to-school supplies to set your students up for success (Note: Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis).
  • 🎪 Artisan Tent: Visit the Artisan Tent featuring various home-base programs and community initiatives.

📝 Please Note: Participants must be registered with DFMWR to participate in the activities and giveaways.
